[AM Utilization Case] Lightweighting of Solar Car Components

Examples of suspension upper fixed components and front caliper brackets!

We would like to introduce a case study on the use of additive manufacturing (AM) for lightweighting solar car components. The focus is on two parts, with the main objective of reducing the weight of the solar car body, aiming for optimized components that enhance added value such as "lightweighting," "maintaining rigidity," and "durability." Optimization was carried out using the generative design feature of "Fusion360" on the selected parts identified through "parts screening." [Case Overview] ■ Optimization Design - STEP 1: Material Properties - STEP 2: Constraint Conditions/Load Conditions/Design Area - STEP 3: GD Design Conditions - STEP 4: GD Design Results - STEP 5: DfAM - STEP 6: Necessity of Simulation *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Design Support Case] Simulation-Driven Design Utilizing Fluid GD

By analyzing the generated shape as a hint and having fluid experts continue their examination, we can solve the issues!

As support for the "Design/Analysis" business, we would like to introduce a case where "Fluid Generative Design" was used for optimized design. The bent flow path faced challenges such as increased pressure loss and uneven flow velocity distribution, which were resolved through fluid generative design. In this case, the solution did not simply emerge from generative design; rather, by using the shapes generated by generative design as hints, experts in analysis and fluid dynamics advanced their investigations, bringing us closer to solving the challenges. [Case Overview] ■ Challenges - The bent flow path leads to increased pressure loss and uneven flow velocity distribution. ■ Approach Taken - Analyzed the received model to understand its characteristics and considered initial shapes necessary for problem-solving. - Derived suitable proposals through fluid generative design and conducted further review. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
